Shape Image Bank

The way the pencils have been set out in a regular pattern forms a directional spiral that takes our eyes round the image. This makes a very clear and regular circle in the centre.  I like how the pattern is what has caused the shape in this image. The shape/circle is the negative space/background as a pose to the pencils which are the actual substance. The pencils have been purposely placed on a clear canvas to emphasis the circle.
The shape of this image we can clearly identify as being a figure of a frog. The frog is an irregular shape that is made up by the negative space creating a silhouette. The leaf is the actual substance. I think that having this image in colour makes the outline of the frog very distinct and obvious and the dark negative space is against a bright and saturated green leaf. The angle of this image is very important as we would rarely see the underneath side of a leaf with a frog on top.
Unlike the two above, this image is layed out in a very regular and organised pattern made up of geometric shapes (buildings). The image being in black and white makes the lines of the triangle tops very clear because they are quite dark against the light shade of the sky.

This image contains three irregular shapes all of which are different objects. However I like how all three contain similar elements for example they are all made of curved, smooth lines that has the connotation of the female figure. I also like how the shape on the right has a very clear contrast against the background because of the colour whereas the other two are less obvious and blend slightly more with the background shade.
This image is of buildings taken from a very low down angle looking upwards to the sky. The negative space creates an irregular shape made up of what appears to be a gap in the buildings. This shape is very contrasting and therefore obvious as the sky is quite light.
