Here I have some inspirational images from the internet of portrait joiners.
This picture uses the joiners technique. I like how the individual pictures are taken from different angles and perspectives to create a distorted effect on the young girl. I like how it sort of expands our view of the girl and we see her from all these views at the same time in the same overall photo. I also like how the colour saturation changed throughout the image like how the top left corner starts with cute muted colours then eventually the colour saturation increases till the bottom right corner where the pictures are quite saturated.
With this one I like how the girl has been taken from a mixture of up close views and further away ones. I like how this creates quite a random effect however we can still see all the pictures are of the same girl.
This image is quite different as all of the pictures are taken from a much closer view. I like how defined and enhanced the eye looks as it is the only section of the image that is in colour and I think this draws a lot of attention to her eye and it becomes the focus of the the picture.
I like how this image is taken from different angles but they seem to be curving round the image. The very centre (the face) is from a straight view and all the pictures that build up around the face all seem to facing inwards to this centre. I like the effect this gives as the image seems to be curving round.
I liked how this one seems to fit together quite nicely but I like how the top parts are quite dark tones and I think this creates a contrast between the lighter tones of the statue and the dark shadows of the wings.
Here I have some inspirational images from the internet of landscape and object joiners.
I liked this joiner of looking down a street. I like how this effect makes the image look quite busy and distorted. This type of joiner may be to confusing and busy for some people as it does create a very full on look and some people may prefer a more simplistic look.
I liked this one as it's a simple idea of just a forest landscape however when put together with the method of joiners it slightly distorts some of the trees. I like how the individual pictures that make up this joiner are quite large as it creates a less busy look like the above picture.
I like how this picture has some colour but also some black and white pictures in the top corners. I think this adds some contrast to the tones in the picture.
This picture has been put together with a squared joiners technique. It gives a more neat and organised grid that all the picture are laid out in. I think this works well with this picture as it is just simple of a swimming pool.
This is a good example of how the idea of joiners can be used to manipulate the overall look of simple objects that always look the same, for example a chair. Most people will see this and know that chairs are not supposed to look like. That's why I like it as I think it can change our perspective.
this is a lot of research, it would be interesting f you could look for ways to apply this knowledge with a further shoot... (if time permits)
